Share Files
The sharing folder that QEMU provided is now removed from Limbo because it is no longer supported and it was buggy and crash Limbo under write access mode. Alternatively you can share files between your android device and the virtual machine using 2 other different ways: via the CDROM interface using ISO image files or via the network using FTP or SCP service. This section explains how both ways work and their advantages and disadvantages.
Using ISO image files
You can create ISO image files of your files and access them via the CDROM device manager within Limbo. The QEMU emulated CDROM/DVD interface should also support large files that would not otherwise fit in the virtual fat shared disk. Another benefit is that using ISO files totally isolates your virtual machine and provides better security. The disadvantage is that your virtual machine does not have write access to your Android filesystem but that could be a good thing. To be able to add Android files to ISO images download and install ISOCraft from the Play Store, it even supports large files that would normally fit in a DVD size disk. For more information on ISOCraft visit the Android Tools section.
Access Android Files via FTP
If your virtual machine supports network you can access your android files using an ftp client inside your virtual machine. This is more complicated since you have to make sure you have a network card installed and operable within the virtual machine. For general information on how to set up network for a virtual machine visit the Network tutorial section. You also have to install an FTP server on your android device like Wifi FTP Server which you can find it on the play store or install any other FTP server app.
Access Virtual Machine files via FTP
You can use the previous concept in reverse, that is you can run an FTP server inside your virtual machine and use an FTP client on your android device to access files. If you do that though you need to set up a port Host Forward rule on the virtual machine. This can be done by entering the following on the Host forward field in the main screen under the Network section:
tcp:2221:21
The above rule means:
All network traffic that is sent to Android device port 2221 should be forwarded to the Virtual Machine network port 21.
So now you can use an FTP client from your android device and log in to the FTP server at the FTP address localhost:2221 which will automatically forward your request to the virtual machine and you will be able to access the virtual machine files.
You can try the X-plore file manager from the play store that has support and use the internal FTP client and can easily. For more information on X-plore visit the Android Tools section.
